Keeping our teeth their whitest is a lot harder than it seems.

March 5, 2013 by admin
Keeping our teeth their whitest is a lot harder than it seems. The main culprits that can cause our smile to become dull are coffee, wine, sodas, and tobacco products.
Coffee’s dark color and acidity can cause yellowing of the teeth over time. Fortunately, it’s one of the easiest stains to treat with various whitening methods.
Cigarettes, as well as other tobacco products, can stain teeth and cause them to fall out as a result of gum disease. If you were looking for one more reason to quit, think of a whiter smile.

Instead of reaching for a cup of joe, consider a cup of Green tea. Green tea controls bacteria and lowers the acidity of saliva and dental plaque, it may be a useful tool in preventing cavities.

Can’t get to a toothbrush, grab an apple. Apples contain a natural mildly astringent acid that whitens teeth. When you chew an apple, it acts like a toothbrush by helping scrub away stubborn stains. You should end a meal with an apple for a whiter brighter day, of course they are NOT a substitute for a toothbrush!
